We believe that effective use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is a life skill that will be part of the learner’s future both at work and home. At Lypiatt Primary School and Early Years Centre, we know how important it is to stay safe online.  Using the Internet sensibly and staying safe is something that we repeatedly teach all children to do.

As a school, our staff have received European Pedagogical ICT training and have achieved our EPICT e-safety certificates.

Here are some websites that provide information and guidelines on internet safety:

The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) protect children from harm online and offline. They provide a wide range of resources and support.

Kidsmart provides e-Safety information and guidance, whilst offering games and competitions for young people.

Thinkuknow has been developed for young people to advise and teach them how to stay safe and be web wise. It includes information on: gaming, social networking, mobiles, chatting, podcasts, blogs, P2P TV and file-sharing. This resource provides a good help guide for parents.

The SWGfL provide information and guidance on keeping safe online.
